Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNO): Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, visited South Kashmir on Wednesday to review the progress of the ongoing Operation Korag and assess the prevailing security situation, the Army said.
During the visit, the Army Commander reviewed the operational situation and the progress of counter-terror operations in the region.
In a post on X, the Army, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said Lt Gen Sharma commended the formations and troops for their synergy, dedication, perseverance and commitment to sustained counter-terror operations.
Operation Korag was launched on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Korag-Yousmarg area of Budgam.
A joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) led to an exchange of fire in which Pakistan-based LeT commander Musa alias Asif Fauji was killed.
